Foxen Canyon

This is another one of the groups favorites. Usually preserved for a weekend, this route is not only a tune up for Bitterwater, but it is a search for Spring flowers. We’ll have a short break for coffee in Los Alamos and then South on the  freeway to Alisos Cyn. Alisos might be our first look at flowers. They are sometimes tucked back in some of the canyons with oaks shading them. Foxen has a potential for some color so we’ll keep our eyes peeled and point out patches to other riders. Depending on group opinion, we will return on the Dominion climbs or dodge trucks on Foxen/Betteravia. This ride is 50 to 55 miles with moderate climbs. Of course there will be alternate routes available for those that are constrained by time.
